The orchestra provides the opportunity  for amateur players as well as semi-professional and professional  musicians, from all walks of life and of all ages,  from 18 years, to play instrumental music on a regular basis, first and foremost, for the pleasure they derive from playing together  in an orchestra.

While for some the orchestra is a way of relaxing as well as improving their playing, for others it is  helpful in their musical careers. Many young soloists on the brink of their careers have played at CSO concerts.

The minimum age requirement is 18 years.  Subscription is currently £19 per term or £57 per annum, students (full-time) £6.50 per term or £19.50 per annum.

New players are always welcome.  The standard of playing required to play in the orchestra is about Grade 7 but good players with orchestra experience are welcome.
