Lis Peskett began playing the violin and viola whilst a part of the Harrow Young Musicians scheme, receiving lessons with Peter Lewis.  She later studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Jack Glickman, gaining a Graduate Diploma, followed by a postgraduate year at the Royal Northern College of Music with Nick Logie.

Lis has had a varied freelance career playing with numerous orchestras, including the Northern Ballet Theatre Orchestra, London Concert Orchestra, English National Ballet, Welsh National Opera and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, including their first tour to the USA under Andrew Litton. She has also played in orchestras for numerous West End shows, including Phantom of the Opera and backed singers including Rod Stewart.

Lis now devotes her time to teaching at Westbourne House and Portsmouth Grammar Schools, whilst freelancing with a number of professional orchestras and ensembles in the south of England, including Southern Pro Musica, Worthing Symphony Orchestra, the Little London Trio and Violas Ascendant.
